Match 6 : Sinhagad Supremos Vs Pratapgad Warriors : Defending champions Sinhagad Supremos bounced back from Sunday disaster wherein they were bundled out for 34 as they defeated Pratapgad Warriors by five wickets in yet another low-scoring match at Deccan Gymkhana.

This was a match between two table toppers and after Supremos scored their fourth win from six matches, they are virtually assured of semifinal berth in the 2011 Maharashtra Premier League.

Winning the toss seemed to work for Ganesh Gaikwad and his bowlers, specially Akshay Darekar and Sagar Sawant responded well by putting brakes early on. Warriors were so straddled with quick dismissals that four batsmen got run-out while trying to put some cheeky runs on board.

Supremos new ball bowlers, Jitendra Patil and Anant Tambvekar, began superbly and gave nothing away. Although their opening spell saw only two wickets falling, the pressure they created made impact for the first change bowler as Darekar, who turned in a ‘Man-of-the-Match’ performance with his two wickets for 22 runs.

Sagar provided him a perfect support with taking 2 wickets and 2 runouts as Pratapgad lost their last seven wickets for mere 25 runs. Parag More with 30 and Shailesh Bhosle (17) were the only Warriors batsmen achieving double-digit score.

Chasing an easy total of 86, Supremos lost half of their side for 59, thanks to a fiery bowling spell by left arm paceman Samad Fallah but Azhar Ansari and Vishal Bhilare saw them through with some applied batting.

Fallah had removed opener Arman Shaikh on the very first ball of the Supremos innings. He gave away only 18 runs in his four overs taking two wickets. Opener Vishant More and middle order batsman Mansingh Nigde did well with a well compiled innings..
