Another strong factor in Supremos surge to the title in MPL-II. Darekar is a left-arm spinner, who can bat a bit in the lower order. He had a good first MPL season, claiming six wickets at an average of 20.67, and scoring 85 runs in five innings, with an astonishing strike-rate of 223. His 16-ball 40 against Shivneri Lions is still remembered by those who were present at the ground that day. But it was the MPL-II, that turned it all for this tweaker. Claiming 13 wickets at an average of 10.92, and a brilliant economy rate of 4.26, earned him a call in the State Ranji team, as the main spinner. Darekar got a full Ranji season in 2010-11. He was a U-22 probable in the past, and has been part of the State team that toured Sri Lanka in 2008. In MPL - III season in league matches Darekar was leading wicket taker with 14 wickets in 7 wickets at an average of 9.57 with a strike rate of 7.64.
